ACRONYMs and Speaking Starbuckian
I’m not the most sophisticated Starbucks consumer but I might be if I could order a drink using the Starbuckian language. Why can’t the name of the drinks be simpler. I grew up in the information technology industry and we made everything easier (HA HA) with three letter acronyms that made sense to all of our teams members and no sense to our business partners. I don’t know why our business partners didn’t get it, after all it seemed so straightforward and it shortened the PowerPoint presentation. Unfortunately it lengthen the discussions and explanations. The presentation looked cool. Anyway back to Starbucks drinks. I love the Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte drink but couldn't this be reduced to "VSCDL"? I don't know how your would say it . "Vis-skittle"?. The first letter “V” is for the serving size and is replaceable by either of other sizes like “T” for Tall, “G” for Grande, or in this case “V" for Venti. Regular black coffee could be as simple as “HB” for Hotel Blend. I don’t know what we can do for weird requests like for example, “I would like a Venti Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte with 1/4 soy, whip cream on top and a light sprinkle of nutmeg.” Try ordering this one in French or some Asian dialect.
New Transit Game in Town
Hey San Francisco, have you seen those blue Chariot vans traveling through and into the financial district. Talk about mass transit reinvented Chariot has something for sure. Muni, Uber and Iyft better be on their game because this company will become the new name synonymous with public transportation. It's fast, affordable and safe with trained and monitored driving behaviors and courteous drivers who greet you on and off and don't think about having to stand because your seat is reserved every time you ride morning and evening commutes. Download the Chariot App from iTunes or Google and book a ride and relax they will just about get you to your doorstep.

Secrets Stay Hidden
Secrets Stay Hidden
Looking toward the western coastline that keeps the mighty Pacific Ocean from flooding inland habitats a layer of dense North Pacific fog waits patiently for the right time to invade the inland areas of the San Francisco Bay. The fog hides something and whatever it is it eludes detection and has for centuries. Even the ships of olden times never found anything so the fog has held onto its secret which has caused fear and anxiety among many a sailor because of the unknown presence that remains undiscovered. Today legends are made up from talks of sea creatures and sharp drop off where the sea takes a 90 degree downward angle into oblivion. The one thing that probably knows the secret presence within the fog is the fog horns that each evening sound the alarm of its ominous approach.

Herb Caen Tribute #5
A city is a state - of mind, of taste, of opportunity. A city is a marketplace - where ideas are traded, opinions clash and eternal conflict may produce eternal truths.
